Does this sound familiar? You’re super excited that your products have arrived. You feel like a child opening a birthday present. You can’t wait to see what it smells and feels like and start using it. You’ve read so much about this product, from the amazing formula to how to use it to the rave reviews.
You start using the product, but things are going slower than you would like. You want results NOW!
Mistake #1: Having unrealistic expectations
It is unrealistic to expect a product or device to erase 25 years of aging in one week. You may see slight improvements, but healing damaged skin takes time! Expect to use the product for at least 6-8 weeks before you see the kind of changes that make you feel better. And it will take 2-3 months to see significant changes. The skin is a living organ, so give it time to do its job.
Take a picture before you start using the products and take another picture every week for 8 weeks. By taking a picture of your skin you will be able to compare and see the improvements and it will encourage you to continue your routine. The B-Box Ultra-Derma device is great for this, as with its Derma Manager app it allows you to easily track your skin’s progress and measure its moisture levels daily.
Mistake number 2: Poor diet
What we ingest will affect the body’s health and our skin. Excessive consumption of sugars, processed foods, caffeine, and alcohol wreak havoc on the skin. You’re investing a considerable amount of money in your products, so you don’t want to sabotage their effects with an inadequate diet.
Eat a diet rich in antioxidants, drink water, and be physically active regularly. Your body and skin will thank you and you’ll get more results from your products. Follow this link for good antioxidants food: Five superfoods that are great for your skin
Mistake #3: Taking on too many products at once and not following instructions
If you’re just starting to care for your skin take it easy with a simple routine:
– Cleansing milk + Essence + barrier cream + sun protection
If you have an overly elaborate routine that takes too much time, you’ll give up on it. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the beneficial beauty routines and make sure that the active ingredients are appropriate for what you would like to see change on your skin. It is important to follow the instructions to get the most out of your products. Once you’re used to it, you can add a serum or eye contour. Remember every time you add a product, you take pictures and follow the progress.
A routine doesn’t have to take 1 hour morning and night to be effective. If your products are well-adapted, you will obtain conclusive results. Also, avoid applying too much, as the skin will only take in what it can absorb.
Mistake number 4: Lack of consistency
For results, you need consistency! It’s like working out – just because I’ve signed my contract at the gym doesn’t mean that the next day the scale shows 10 pounds less. You must give the skin time to absorb the active ingredients and the skin’s structures to react to these new ingredients. Cellular renewal takes about 28 days, so you must give it nutrients regularly to see changes.
Think of this as a time to stop and take care of yourself. Make it a ritual. Over time you will see that this time will become a necessity and not a chore.
The best way to get results using good products is to start with the basics (cleanse, moisturize, protect) and use them faithfully EVERY day and night as directed. Do this for at least 8 weeks (taking your before/after photos) and if at that point you feel like you need a little something extra, add a serum applicable to what you want to add.
